Ur MomI’ve been using Directory Opus as an Explorer replacement for decades. Batch rename is one of my used features of it. MP3Tag is free and great for managing music files with these advanced renaming tools

mtardispI use sonarr and radarr to track which movies I have and it does my renaming for it too.

DefaultIf you disable the automatic emptying of trash in Plex, it should match the renamed files to the existing entries and maintain your watched status etc.

Dec 6, 2025Turns out, didn't have an issue at all. Renamed everything, didn't beak anything!
Juan Mc DI got awfully upset when filebot became a paid for service but it's nice that you just pay for it once, keep the license file and put it on the next computer as you upgrade. it was a huge life saver as I manually 'obtained' my media and this saves me hours or renaming and the naming convention for Plex. thankfully the Arr stack now takes care of it all now and I can spend my time brainrotting instead.

fredrik055I use "Rename My TV Series" it's free but only works for TV shows. I've been too cheap to buy FileBot, 😅 but I’ll probably need to get it because I haven’t kept up with renaming my movies. But I can recommend Rename My TV Series if someone is only looking to rename TV shows.
