#Musicbrainzpicard is a fantastic tool to help organise, rename and manage all the music files you've been collecting. If want to get rid of #Spotify, and you're using services like #plex to manage the music then, you need naming and magement, if you've got thousands of song and albums, then this is the too to use.

Firewall PhantomCan I use it for audiobooks?
No, it doesn't support audiobooks, but I'm doing some research about podcasts and audiobooks now.
VISEGood tool but you can't add more than 2-3 albums at a time or it will get confused. And it still does with the different versions of albums and things like that.
Good to know.
StevoPicard killed my collection 12 yrs ago still salty
Ouch.
Nueve658If you have enough space for a duplicate copy of your music, absolutely use the secondary location for the fixed tagged files. It can screw up files, pick wrong metadata, move files out of folders they are meant to be in. Handmade playlist folders will be nuked.
thehumanrebuildso good docker container to use on a Nas That will automatically and regularly pull music once you've given it the artist
hamedOK, after having a shit tone of music organized, what app to use on my phone to access it?
symphonium is good, or if you're using Plex then the plaxamp works.
Seb :PI'm using Spotify premium right now. but I'm getting into adding more apps to my some server (mainly jellyfin and immich currently) if I switched my Spotify to a local hosted. I'm loosing any streaming right for songs I don't have downloaded right?
Yeah, you would need to download them all.
Seb :Pokay thanks.
Firewall PhantomYeah pretty much, I use Navidrome to host my music I’ve downloaded
Ur MomI’ve been a long time user of MP3Tag. Really great, powerful tool for managing my music archive
Definitely going to check it out
Robert Mitchellohhh, thankfully you've shared this at the beginning of my journey! thank you! what's your best way of streaming from your home server? I've been trying a few different apps on my phone etc, but im interested in what your using.
I'm a plex user, I have the paid version but honestly I don't know if I need it. Cloudflare tunnels worst perfect from remote. For music I use symphony app on Android, and as I'm using Cloudflare it works remote and casts perfectly fine.
Robert MitchellI liked using plex amp. it seemed to just work, but now I've to pay.. I went down the route of tail scale and symfionum, but I hate the connecting and discounting from VPN, the VPN messes up other things like banking etc.
That's why you use cloudflare tunnels, no vpn at all.
Robert Mitchellohhh I'll have to have a look in to cloudflare. have you made any vids on cloudflare? can't think I've seen any
I have, but mostly as part of other videos, I'll do one tomorrow, just about setting up a tunnel.
KasaastgraHaving music from over the years, I’ve found that the volume on one single may differ to the next single, forcing me to adjust volume. Do you have a piece of software that can manage the volume across files to be the same that you would recommend?
Hmmmm interesting challenge, normalising audio, let me see.

lykirīomg king thanks
Very welcome.
Mickey KnowledgyYour collection isn't finished till you add time stamped lyrics. 😏
Lol, that's a bridge too far... Maybe.. 😂
techno_nerd007So will it add album art or just use any that’s in the folder?
I don't thi k it downloads but it fixes the metatada, so when your app loads it should pull the images properly.
quietcometit does yes, but I had to disable it because it uses a low quality sometimes photos taken of the cd
SweeveeI’d highly recommend ‘OneTagger’. It can grab metadata from multiple sources like MusicBrainzPicard, Spotify, Deezer, iTunes, and more
Unsolicited opinion giverWill this work on flacs from the soul seeking journey from the high seas?
Should do yes!
Labrat407 🇨🇦Is there a tool that can do this for audiobooks?
I'm going to take a look at filebot tomorrow and I have a feeling it may be the one.
Labrat407 🇨🇦Thanks, look forward for the video.
user4650350954729can you search for one that does the same but for movies and series please
I'm going to take a look for that today!
Ted Jonesthis is handy and will be giving it a try. I've got music spread over so many folder and I've lost count, how many possible duplicates there are 🤦
Yeah, that's the pain part, it's also maybe worth looking at filebot. I'm going to check it out tomorrow.
Ted Jonesinteresting. I'll wait to see what you think of it. I know have at least 3 copies of the same song or albums, but in different folders, thanks to years of collecting music on various laptops & pc's 🤦
I know the feel
