Chat seems to be having issues globally, with efforts to read what your saying in your private messaging by eroding security. This means it might be worth taking steps to #selfhost your own #matrix chat messaging server. In this video were going to step though installing matrix, then connecting #cloudflare tunnels to provide access, and lastly installing a chat client on your phone so you can interact with everyone safely and privately. There is a higher res version on YT with all the commands there as well.

ashinabeen using matrix+element from my vps, works great
patrikcant you store the data only on the sending and receiving client?
that's should work yes.
FAHADSession app the batter 🔥
blaxkxanaxwith cloudflared all you’re doing is connecting to the machine —> app, no? if you used dns from CF and NGNIX is less secure?
iM connecting directly to the application (port) on a specific machine, no need for nginx at all.
blaxkxanaxis it better/more secure? why would someone choose cloudflared as opposed to ngnix?
Remote access if you're behind a CGNAT, which many are.
Acadia Guinevereyour channel is like the coolest shit and its everything I've been looking for as someone new-ish to homelabbing good job! keep it up!
Thanks! Very much appreciated
oyoGreat video as always, the problem with Tiktok when you clear. The top line is blocked by the notch of phone
I have this also up on my YT, just for this issue!
chillguy✦I'm just wondering why we use Ubuntu most of the time. what about the other distros?
For me, it's just reliably up to date with all the libraries and drivers I need.
chillguy✦Thanks for the explanation
rose(✿^‿^)🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈I'm curious what would happen if the government found someone doing illegal stuff on the platform and traced it back to your server? would they attempt to contact me to get the data from my server? (or there was someone using it and they want to see who they were in contact with) I'm not trying to entice illegal activity but I am interested in what would happen in this kind of situation
Technically yes, if police were involved with local or federal, you'd be compelled to hand it over. Even though you would have it encrypted
rose(✿^‿^)🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈okay thanks
rose(✿^‿^)🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈oh damn massive CloudFlare downage today ..... another large one of the internet companies are down, jeeez
Yeah I saw that too... I guess Ill do a video on how to not rely on cloudflare!
Hellotoefiend - Timmeh🤗🤗🤗
xAbraj.comPegasus hacks your Ios and Android phones regardless 😆😹🔥
Aaron Cowiehow can say 2 mobile phones do p2p chat
Phones would need a server I think, this is close but I'm sure it exists.
Ted Jonesthis is very interesting 🤔 but as for managing this service, can it be set up, that each chat will auto delete in X days? that way, there will be no need to manage it, no need for big storage and it will be even more secure?
I don't see why not, I'm sure there will be a configuration file you can edit no issues at all.
chillinchiIsn’t this a baby Snapchat? (Cool demo)
More like whatsapp or signal.
chillinchiI think I was thinking about the delete after certain time feature. (I don’t Snapchat) I thought that was a feature of Snapchat
Ted JonesI used to have Snapchat. as soon as you read a msg on Snapchat, it gets deleted (well, it used to, not sure now). but that's not what i want. I like the msges to be deleted say after 1 day, 1 week or 1 month. just like you can on telegram or WhatsApp.
That's a good default to have.
TtwlightAre you on YouTube?
I am, links in my bio :)
