IanDoes going this route resolve docker limitation of attached storage such as external drives(not NAS). Doing all in a docker container I was running into it not seeing the root library even when mounting it to the containers.
You may need to make the drives a network share not a usb drive.
jonthngIs this the only way to do it or is there any option to do it natively?
Not that I know of as the boot loader is the issue. I belive that there is a Linux for Apple Silicon but not 100% sure on quality.
jonthngHmm okay, I’m pretty new to all this lol. I’m wanting to use an external hard drive but i can’t find a way to have it show up in Colima/casaos, any ideas on how to get that to work?
brennanWhy don’t you use proxmox?
Proxmox doesn't run on m1 silicone unfortunately.
brennanAh that makes sense
Daz😁😁😁
Crisis ActorI’m getting really slow transcoding with a Mac m1 mini on apple silicon unfortunately. The guides are fantastic though!
FrankI’m using a Mac mini for a basic home server while I building a custom server. This was great video! I just followed keep it up
polar695Thanks for this great content. Adding this now to my Mac mini, do you have the commands, I got stuck at Colima start line the variables I’m putting in aren’t correct. The screen you have above you in the video is too pixelated to follow
1 brew install colima 2 brew install docker 3 colima start --vm-type=vz --network-address 4 colima ssh 5 curl -fsSL https://get.casaos.io | sudo bash
polar695Done and done, the stack casaos and the stack have been installed. When installing casa I linked my media server and can access the storage in casa but not through radar or sonarr, any ideas?
OLDHAMMER'95Benjamin! Wondered if you'd covered the recent news about Google planning on stopping the ability to side load apps. Best wishes, a worried nVidia Shield user.
I haven't covered it BUT its already screwed me out of a project I had planned. Its going to be something to consider thats for sure.
OLDHAMMER'95Juuuuuust going to turn auto update off, brb
MslakYou!! Sir, are doing the Lord’s work🔥, can we accomplish the same on an old Intel Mac mini?
Yes absolutly, it is going to be the same process (Im 99% confident)
Meh 🫤It hurts me every time somebody uses Mac for home labs 😭😭😭😭
I think they are great for some things, not so great for others.
Chris HarrisonWould the cloudflare tunnels still be the right way to access it online? I like to use LunaSea on my phone so need external access
I find CF tunnels really great, and for jsut personal use I can't see an issue. Ive been using it for a long time and never had an issue.
mrkokkinosI prefer Tailscale or just straight up Wireguard 🤔
