Brendan Green | AutomateDo you have a setup guide for this or a link to the css you added?
yes I don't, on the partron (link in bio) 🥰🥰🥰
Darren LageJellyfin Enhanced has built in Jellyseerr connections for search and requesting content directly from jellyfin. Only issues I have is my main source for watching jellyfin is WebOs on my LG TV, and it's horribly outdated and most plug-ins don't support that version. Other than that, been loving jellyfin.
yeah webosnis a real pain.. its what makes Plex better, it works great on everything.
Darren LageBeen debating on getting an android box for it since we don't use any other apps on the smart TV. But for basic movie watching it works on LG
UserStarted my server about 2 months ago
Awesome
Haymaker_BakerI've been running Jellyfin for almost 3 years, it's been great.
luc_tiktok09Could you share the custom CSS code? And maybe the pictures you use for your movies and tv shows?
of course, I'll put it up on the Patreon for you, it's free, link in bio. in a day or so
ًPlex data privacy issues so for that it's Jellyfin all day.
yeah, I'm leaning towards a full migration, mostly because I can do lots of customisation.
Nico Morgan | Equine MediaI spent sometime going through the privacy pages in Plex and it was easy to turn off data sharing.
ً😂 It's deeper like backend issues nothing a that turning that off is gonna fix lol
CrazyMojoI run into playback errors for iOS
yeah, compared to Plex JF is just a little more flakey.
HunterLoving jellyfin but struggle with playing it on my appletv with HomePod pair for speakers. Getting terrible video quality using infuse app.
interesting.
HunterTo be more specific the unofficial jellyfin appletv app swiftfin can’t handle syncing the audio between the HomePod pair and the tv but the video looks great. The infuse app is doing something to the quality of the video that looks bad but the audio is great. I turned off a toggle for ai upscaling on infuse and that seemed to help a little
sadlonra 2Streamyfin mobile app has jellyseer built in
I'll take a look!
poorfoodieHave you tested streaming with the app? I don’t have a dedicated server yet, so I’ve been trying to stream over the local network from my PC and music will continually cut out and just stop playing altogether.
Video worked well. last night, haven't streamed and looked at the network though. that sounds like maybe a network issue?
poorfoodiePotentially? But we haven’t hit network issues with any other devices, so it’s had me a bit baffled.
so if you stream music one some devices its fine but others aren't fine? or streaming video is fine but music fails?
poorfoodieI haven’t attempted to stream video with Jellyfin, but devices like Google chromecast don’t have any streaming issues
so it maybe bottle neck at the audio device? honestly not totally sure how to help I'm sorry :(
poorfoodieIt’s all good! I’m sure I’ll figure it out eventually.
I BELIEVE IN YOU!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!
espencitooBasically for me came down to: for personal use? Go with jellyfin. Plan on sharing it with anyone remotely tech illiterate? Go with plex
it seems though, if the app commects to a server remotely well enough, sharing isn't too hard...
KibbieKattYeah my tech illiterate parents are a major thing keeping my Plex running. The state of unofficial jellyfin clients is iffy, and I find that many aren't very smart about choosing the right quality to avoid buffering - which is fine for me since I can adjust it, but my elderly parents need a smooth experience or they'll go pay for streaming again.
Seb :Pfor me on truenas scale, jellyfin took like 5minutes max, works perfectly. biggest issue is my arr stack giving me Spanish movies instead of English.
nice, yeah inital. setup was easy to install, but as soon as I wanted to make changes because I know it's customisable, I wanted to see how hard it was to customise.
espencitooYeah need to work on my arr stack preferences, it seems to love GERMAN releases
Seb :PI've had issues too with languages. I've tried making a preference for English and og language Wich are positive and common other languages like Italian, Spanish etc to negative. made English preset +100 and non English preset -1000. don't know how well it works yet, but I theory it's good
BingbongI would love a full length tutorial on how to get this all setup. Home server, all these applications, “sources”, etc.
on it.
DragonCakeOnly have my Jellyfin running a short while and loving it. I would like a way to rate media with my own local star rating. Love app control over TV 😁
yeah, there are a few features that would be nice..
