Yesterday I did a video on how you can self host your own search engine, so you don't have to comply with the Australian government's requirement to upload an I'd. I got a lot of comments, some great feedback, but also a lot of people who didn't think it was real or maybe had some miscommunication. In this video I will show you the exact legal legislation and compliance requirements that are currently in effect.

DomesticvikingI’ve seen people posting cp on the comments sections of TikTok and on videos where they play something else first then it’s just prn or cp and that’s always been the case and they get a thrill from that sht can we just lock onto those people and just start wiping them from earth until nobody is anymore and we use that to secure safety online
SorrowKing101this is for australia only
PCShortsyeah I doubt Yandex is going to do shit, currently that search engine is the only that actively doesn't ban Piracy sites what so ever
Still Russian influence though, but these days what tech isn't influenced by the government it's region locked to
Luckyalready got Tor browser & such installed + waiting for internet 2.0 to be released which is only months away
Nice
rose(✿^‿^)🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈it'd be funny if they just said, Nupe bye Australia but that would be devastating to both our access and their data collection and stuffs
Very
Tyrant BoiTHE SOCIAL MEDIA BAN IS ALL ABOUT CONTROL. FIGHT BACK.
Carla 🏹🕊️🤍@Carla 🏹🕊️🤍: I don’t understand why they can’t do what Texas has done if they are so worried about adult content. In Texas adult content website are completely banned you cannot even search or open them, it comes up with an educational page saying it’s against the law in Texas to view and use these sites. That seems much easier lol just shut the sites down.
antiwokeantinaziI just read the new legislation and you’re misrepresenting the whole thing, it states expressly that they can’t require you to give a govt issued ID or store your personal info.
"it states expressly" No it doesn't , if it does can you please direct me to that and I will 100% happy change my position.
antiwokeantinazi63DB Use of certain identification material and services (1) A provider of an age‑restricted social media platform must not: (a) collect government‑issued identification material; or (b) use an accredited service (within the meaning of the Digital ID Act 2024 ); for the purpose of complying with section 63D, or for purposes that include the purpose of complying with section 63D. Civil penalty: 30,000 penalty units.
antiwokeantinaziThey face a massive fine for doing so - it’s in black and white https://parlinfo.aph.gov.au/parlInfo/search/display/display.w3p;db=LEGISLATION;id=legislation%2Fbills%2Fr7284_aspassed%2F0001;query=Id%3A%22legislation%2Fbills%2Fr7284_aspassed%2F0000%22
SiennrConfused, if your create a new email, how do you search? Because what I read was if you don’t confirm your age your search function will have a child lock on it, so how does having a different email change anything?
SiennrGoogle has advised to confirm your age you need to do the below . They need to see your name and DOB, so everything else can be covered up
It's still a gov Id that links your Web behaviour to personal data. So don't go searching anything bad now... And the gov will tell you what's bad now, by the way
SiennrWhat? - can you dumb down this answer as you have confused the shit out of me
Jaiout of curiosity, how easy do you think this’ll be to get around considering tourists already aren’t held to the restriction while in our country?
This is why I think it's account level, not just current location. So vpns aren't going to help.
Jaiyeah that’s what i was thinking. i did however see a news clip saying it will be ‘spot checks’ instead of a blanket thing, which makes even less sense.
d0wnUnd3r4JI use DuckDuckGo it doesn’t track nor ask for any I.D.
Paige HarveyI’m just going to get a proof of age card if I have to in order to use things. Not going to be adding my license or passport or birth certificate
Jizzy Dipperdont do it, help us crash the economy 😁
Paige HarveyI would but I need access to Facebook because I’m a reseller and it’s the only way I make any kind of money. If I don’t need it I definitely won’t do it 🙂
Jizzy Dippercant sell if nobodys using it 😂 you should start up a website of your own too
Paige HarveyI’m not sure anyone would use the website 😂. I’m only small beans unfortunately
Jizzy Dipperah well i wish you luck regardless!
Paige HarveyThank you!
wildfawnettei have a proof of age card, some companies overseas don’t count them as valid 💔
Paige HarveyWell that’s not good! 😯
Urging 1978No, the Australian social media age ban does not require you to use government-issued ID. The government explicitly states that platforms must not compel users to use a government-issued or digital ID. Instead, social media companies must offer reasonable, privacy-respecting alternatives, such as AI-based age estimation, third-party verification services, or analyzing account history and behavior.
I'm talking about search engines requiring you to do age verification to use them.
Urging 1978That’s not happening. Stop spreading misinformation.
Anniso is duck duck go etc going to be an alternative to google and providing ID. or is there just no way round this because it will apply to all search engines?
From what I can see, they will apply the rule to all search engines.
Anniwell that is concerning and problematic
Lizzy_simmoSo would changing the browser to say yahoo be able to bypass this or will they have to comply as well
Ali CreativeI'm annoyed bcos there was a Tiktok circulating not that long ago where a guy was saying ONLY children under 16 would have to provide ID (and he supposedly had receipts), and people saying otherwise - which a lot of us were starting to point out - were fear mongering....😒😒😑 yet here we are....💀
Kristy Pricethe government keeping our kids safe by keeping the high profile names from the royal commission secret
Gigi Kent553Goes deeper than this. They ultimately want to kil us.
Deltsthis would break Google reviews if every user has this as a barrier. they just won't leave good reviews unless they're SUPER motivated
Bada video guide would be sick
sebyte 🍉🇺🇦so I have gmails, would I be able to set up some kind of rerouting a non google email? 🤔
if you ahve a @gmail.com then yes you can use mail client like thunderbird and you don't need to use the web app.
Annithis is my concern as well. suddenly i will be cut off from very important emails...😏
Billy Browncowim just getting off the internet cbf logging in
sounds like a plan to me
Sarah Henke547thanks
SmurfLabor and LNP in Australia have passed into law this digital ID. WE'RE DOOMED! Without digital ID: No job, no centrelink (unemployment benefits), no pension, no bank, no health, no food, no drivers licence, no mortgage, no renting, no travel without this ID. Refusing this and you will be unemployed and homeless. This is terrifying and god forbid if you have a dissenting voice or refuse the next MRNA vaccines. We will also be censored to oblivion. This is traumatising and most can't see how bad this is going to be for everyone. This is the beginning of facsism!
KayneLabor LNP and one nation* all the independents ajd other minor parties voted against it. even the Christian party Palmer party etc. voted against this only one nation Labor liberals and nationals
MJAWhere’d you come up with this idea
SmurfWork it out pal. It's agenda 2030
Eldarcorf1is it any Australian ID or does have to be passport or drivers license
Not totally sure, but it needs to be personally identifyable data.
Jaias of now it’s up to the site itself what’s allowed, so it will depend but a lot will probably accept a photo taken then and there

ShadowI have also been getting clap-back from highlighting this, commenters saying I'm promoting conspiracy theories. It's shocking how many Australians are unaware (this close to kick-in date) of the new laws. Try and organise a protest after the date, you need to provide the very thing you're protesting about to find information. Unless they see your video BEFORE.
So it seems. Blissfully unaware of rights and privacy being eroded.

Huff_hexisuse yandex mother Russia wont bow to aus gov
JuliandroRelated and somewhat comical, I am thrilled to read all of the professionals from many different categories (including cyber security) leaving scathing comments on the LinkedIn of the PM whenever they post anything to do with the online safety act and age gating. This was never about the children. Ever.
It's a joke.
it needs to work the other way around. everyone under age needs an id linked pin to access any Internet connected device
db1Because it’s not about kid’s safety. It’s about being able to track and control adults. Their ultimate goal is to have everything linked to your digital id. And if you step out of line, they will turn your ID, and everything linked to it, off. The Canadian government froze the bank accounts of the protesting Canadian truckers. You can bet that eventually our government will require bank accounts to be linked to your digital ID.
Trevor LongFalse. Like, on the radar, but age ASSURANCE does NOT require an id, your simple usage will indicate age in most cases. Also, not using an account, or being logged in, simply means safe search is on by default, you can still search like normal. RELAX. Let’s make it harder for kids to see porn huh?
_Izzy 🇦🇺Search engines can remove all porn sites from search results just like they do with torrents.
Yup
db1So why are all the ADULTS the ones required to have an ID? Why aren’t the under 16’s the one’s being forced to have a trackable digital ID, so their online activities can be monitored? Stop being so naive in thinking this is about kid’s safety. It’s not.
Judge & JuryWhat is that going to do to tourism?
stuttervideothis is exactly what the government did with covid they can't force us so they force all the businesses and say that their customers have to have the vaccine or in this case digital ID or they will end up with police at their door shutting them down. it's disgusting the way we are being treated people need to unite and stand up you guys should search Astandintheparkpark dot org and join a protest near you
PauluxwolfBe bad for businesses if I have to show I’d just to find an electrician just print up a phone book again thanks what a bunch of BS
I completely agree
Cinnamon🇦🇺🇨🇦🏴Serious question - can I pay you to set this up as I agree with this but don’t have the skills to action it.
I'll do a video guide for you instead, for free?
Cinnamon🇦🇺🇨🇦🏴Thank you! I appreciate your grounded, action-oriented approach.
Sflynn007Yes please!
Takru.haruI'd also be interested in a video if it's not to complex 😊
Thanks!
Anastasia Machtoubplease that would be great!
wanderingwonderlandThank you a video would be so helpful!
If yiu look at the video I did previous to it, I walk you though how to set it up.
aziz hamsakeen for vid as well , if you release :)
S6yxyoure lazy
Clinton Ludgrovethis is just within Australia correct? of we connect to a VPN in a different country are we still going to need to provide ID?
I believe it's a count level so it may not matter.
peace and happiness 🕊️🐯what email do we use without ID?
I'm going to do a video on de googling yourself, and it will include email.
OzBear 🇦🇺 (❤️🇨🇴❤️)Protonmail
BushyWe've been pincered. Using the internet logged out will suck, almost unusable compared to the experience you are used to. But handing over ID (biometrics!) is so easy..... Until the inevitable hack. You only get one face, one set of fingerprints, two retinas and a DNA.
Yup, the town square we all used to congregate in, now has a bouncer and we're all getting carded on camera.
Loken
SmurfDefinitely boxed us in and pincered.
yup
omgrr7🃏YOU DON'T need an account to use Google...
True, but you do if you use maps, images, docs, Gmail, any google login services..
_Izzy 🇦🇺Where do you think your digital ID will be stored? It will be linked to your google account or you can keep sending your ID for every search you do.
I'm sure the details will be stored with your account details, but I doubt it will be accesseable.
_Izzy 🇦🇺Yep, that’s why they’ll eventually make it mandatory to have an account to search to avoid having to verify every time. Data is always accessible especially through a backdoor
omgrr7🃏maps is not a login service
