Let me know in the comments if you want to see me do any of these projects. I was in the process of moving my #homeassistant across to the #raspberrypi and I started seeing that there were only four apps that people suggest over and over for Pi ideas. So this video is a list of some random ideas that if you want to start doing and building out your home lab skills you can use a Raspberry Pi to build.

Mr The Plaguecheckout Dakboard over magic mirror
JankladAs a French newb that has never touched code or Linux in my silfe I have no idea how I ended up on your channel but I've subscribed a few month ago and it gave me the push to start things. So far I bought a mini pc and installed Linux on it but got stuck trying to put HAOS on a VM 😅. Ideally I'd love to have some home assistant stuff and add a big ssd to transform the pc into a media server and all but I'm starting to doubt Ubuntu is the right OS for this project so far above my non existent skills 😅
Dude, that's really awesome. I'm glad you found it and I'm glad that you're getting some value from it. I guess from here on in, it's just practice, playing with and constantly breaking and fixing things.
AriaWe need more ideas. New ideas. We know most what pi does. We need fresh 2025 ideas
JordanI would love to see the magic mirror! I also would like to know more about Linux distro’s, If you have the time to talk about that.
Oh yes!! Been wanting to do that for years!
Logan MillerAny recommendations on a calendar?
Oh Calendars are a pain, there are some selfhostible ones but nothing that works like google cal without effort. I Need to do something about it
Davy ParidaensAstropi 😀
Davy Paridaens3CX voip PBX they have a free subscription for basic stuff
Nice, still need to rent numbers though yes?
Josh Nelson105I've been looking into this stuff heaps. I'm an amateur but manage a bunch of developers enough at work to be dangerous. iv wanted to setup a home Ubuntu with thinks like pihole and self hosting supabase and a few other things but I'm concerned not being a networking expert could open up my local network to vulnerabilities or cyber risks. like I don't mind if my Ubuntu PC and whatever data is on that is corrupt or stolen but I'd hate bad actors to be able to infiltrate other devices on the wifi. any tips on where to start here or if this is actually a risk? maybe a vid on security or network surface risk management.
Honestly, if you don't port forward on your router most of the time you're going to be fine, if you do need to expose something to the internet use cloudflare tunnels or even put everything on tailscale. I've touched on these sorts of things in the past but never done a full video.
Josh Nelson105ohh zohran os educational sound very interesting
lykirīgod i loooove every single video broooo, you are amazing
meagantheartistWill using a vpn work to avoid the whole social media ban?
Not likely :(
Unlikely
user90143762994I would love to see your take on copyparty including a tutorial, might be great for people with less powerful hardware like a raspberry pi or those just getting into homelabbing 😁
That's a great idea.
Nero MaplethorpeSo what the performance like how many of these services could I put on one pi ?
Probably a few, depends on the ram, cpu and apps you choose.
TheAngryFarm🇨🇦I'm just getting into homelabbing and am super proud that I set up Pihole on a Proxmox VM without a full walkthrough video. Now I feel stuck because every other thing seems so much bigger and out of reach.
You got a long way into it already! be happy my dood! now its just one step after another and ChatGPT is your friend!
TheAngryFarm🇨🇦Thanks man!
memepruhI like the idea that everyone will have home severs in a couple years
So do I, honestly I think its the new cord cutting trend. All the app subscriptions, that are now owned at home.
Dan Jacksonvault warden demo would be really cool
Nice will do
TechPanthéon🤣😂 LOVE this list! meanwhile, I'm over here just trying to configure Pi-Hole on my old Toshiba Satellite L455 🤣 this box hates ProxMox 🤣 was trying to put TrueNAS in a VM too, but without KVM virtualization it's was nothing but errors consistently. 🤷 probably gonna wipe, put Pi-Hole natively and call it a day 😅
TechPanthéonI'd get some Pis, but finances are SCARCE rn 😅
I know that feeling all too well.
FrankYou should make a video about self hosting AMP ( I prefer amp but Pterodactyl is also good)
InKc913Would love to see the kids computer and learning station!
Double done
