If you’re looking for a self-hosted way to access and manage your music library without relying on Spotify, #LiDARR used to be the go-to option. However, the platform has been struggling recently, and even after months, many of its issues remain unresolved. In the meantime, we need an alternative — and that’s where #Nicotine+ comes in. Nicotine+ is a graphical web interface for the #SoulSeek network — a peer-to-peer file-sharing system that lets you find and download nearly any kind of music imaginable. For this demo, I’ve installed Nicotine+ on Unraid, but you can also run it using #Docker Desktop or by pulling the image directly from Docker Hub. Just search for the Binhex/Nicotine+ repository, set it up, and remember to: Map your music and download folders correctly Enable VNC access, since that’s how you’ll interact with the application’s interface

The First LordAre there any automatic working options for this? At one point, it was able to auto download all my playlest and likes from YouTube on lidarr. When I was changing some folder structures on my unraid, I accidentally wiped the music folder. Now, there is nothing. Looking for another automated way. I know I could go and just torrent some massive collection, but then I end up with a lot of stuff I don't want. side note, does anyone have a way to automate youtube music video downloads? I would like to have them as well to play on the TV. right now, I use all the video files from ultrastar

Oct 29, 2025Lidarr was the go to for that, and yeah its still down :( and I'm not sure on an alternative yet, but ill find one! for YT dl's also not sure.
