Wolf✖2 🇨🇦can you explain how to run and interact w docker containers on windows server, since docker desktop isn't avaliable on ws?
Yeah, I can do something, are you interested in anything specific?
Wolf✖2 🇨🇦Anything really, even any of the applications you've demoed over this plex journey.
Just to confirm you're using Windows Server or Windows OS on your server?
Wolf✖2 🇨🇦windows server 2025 :)
Doug SellnerRancher desktop is cool as well
I'll take a look :)
Tomanic1can you run any of these from a nas . That would sort the size out and the always on.
What nas are you using? What's the operating system
UMNZ 🇳🇿You should take a look at Lobe. Once you get over the novelty of being able to run a model locally, you immediately find yourself wanting artifacts, knowledge base, system prompts/personalities etc. Lobe is insanely simple but crazy powerful.
I like anythingLLM rather than lobe, but its all very much the same.
UMNZ 🇳🇿They’re about the same as Ubuntu and Redhat. Have you seen the news with ZimaOS? Paid plans coming in the next update.
I know zima has a paid plan now, they aren't scrapping CasaOS are they?
UMNZ 🇳🇿They’re not scrapping CasaOS officially but the writing is on the wall.. the migration tool. To be honest, I have absolutely no problem paying $30 one time for ZimaOS. I think it’s providing plenty of value and supporting the developers is only going to lead to more/faster development.
BushyIt's important to understand what's in those docker containers you are pulling. It's an OS (some flavour of Linux) plus all the files, preconfigured to run in that bubble. Connecting that bubble to other things is the trick. Along with modifying the stuff in the bubble. SSH and a command prompt are the usual methods. Having said that, most of those apps will have a browser accessible gui on a specific port (localhost or your hosts IP).
Yeah, getting containers to talk to others, or just having to spin up volumes that can be acessed, it can be tricky for a few people!
IndorilCan you use these to monitor the behaviour of your network?
yes, you could use Netdata or Ntopng, or Grafana/Prometheus or Zabbix and so on. all should be fine in a docker container but need to be always on.
