TJ🍃Is it better than the blended 2/5/6 networks?
Its different yes, you are splitting deviices across different spectrums of a single connection manually, whereas blended is lumping them together

La viviBest purchase I made was getting a GL inet MT 6000 and flashing openwrt on it, you can control everything on that thing
Oh yeah, nice
VonHaggisI tried this before, Couldn't split the bands but I did have the option for a guest network on 2.4, However it has some isolation so none of the devices could access the wired network, including PiHole so nothing worked 😅
Tom ClarkHow do you log in?
In the same way you would with any network, enter your SSID and add your password.
Dylan.DulaneyDid you mean WiFi 7? (As opposed to 7GHz)
Yes, my bad.
Pat Braithwaite🥰
X!honyWould you recommend this over the router’s “smart switch”
If your router supports multiple seperated networks then use that, this is really jsut a hack/workaround.
Graham EllingsenWhat's the point of assigning the smart devices to 2.4GHz if you can't control them from the mobile device over on the 5GHz?
a lot of devices will have a web portal anyway, but its something to be aware of, hence my reason for brining it up.
DaBeetusI’ve been running a TP Link Deco x20 mesh router for a few years now and it’s got some decent config options in it like a built in IoT network, and von options such as Mullvad. But I really need a network upgrade of some sort. Just not sure where to start. I’m looking at Ubiquiti.
If I had the cash I'd go with Ubiquity, it will grow with your needs and I'd be suprised if you outgrew it. TPlink is lower cost and as good I think
BushyDefinitely one for the tech tinkerer, I wouldn't suggest this to someone that needs wifi bands explained. Might impact WAF as well.
𝒟ℯ𝓃𝒵You know in crowded places 😂😂i sort of use this trick change my wifi band from 2.4Ghz to the 5Ghz on my pc while other are using slow wifi because we are closing mine is faster
Hahaha, cheeky
