In this video were going to install and set up Prowlarr and Flaresolver to source files for download. This is built on our #casaos #homelab that we've installed on our #raspberrypi that has #plex running as the Netflix replacement.

SteveI have prowlerr and flaresolverr. I setup the flaresolverr proxy and it works. When i try to add it to my 1337 indexer it fails saying blocked by cloudflare. I also added the tag. Any ideas?
you need to install the flaresolver app, I have the setup in this playlist.
SteveGot it. Im running off of linux so i downloaded it via the github
The Hayward Flooring CoI'm having trouble with the flaresoverr index proxy as I'm doing it locally not with a pi but unable to connect if I leave it as localhost. it worked with my wlan ip but then the indexer couldn't connect
not quite sure, I did a video today on my YouTube, I use flaresolver tlin that one, take a look at that, maybe it will help?
The Hayward Flooring CoI'll take a look cheers
kzzzWhat if you’re using a VPN? What do you do when it comes to the IP situation
It adds a little more complexity. I have a video about adding the downloader behind a Vpn though.
K Lohello pal just learning the Arr stack .. I have a problem with Radarr install ... clicking it brings up an error but if I follow the link for localhost7878 from their website it loads fine ..however if I close tab all progress is lost
K Loany ideas
TimmmeeehhhI think usenet is much more reliable for something like this. Also no need for a VPN and no need to worry about IP leak if you do use one
Usenet is awesome.
Matthewwithout flaresolver in getting error every time when trying to add an index, any solution to this ? 🥹
What's the error your getting?
Matthew"unable to access xxxx, blocked by cloudfare protection"
Oh, you need to make sure the flaresolver tag in sonarr and radarr is added. That's possibly the issue.
Or just add Flaresolver, it is abandoned but will still work.
MatthewI'm using MacOS, started the project a while ago, bit had to reset my Mac. and now it's not working anymore unfortunately
MatthewHmmm, I've not installed them yet me thinks. following your guide like a slave ,😅
Matthewmy problem is prowlerr but should I install the other ones first ?
JerryFlaresolver!!!!! Wow I gotta get that
Unfortuanly since I have made this video I belive that the project has been abandoned, which sucks.
Matthewanything to replace it with ?
Me myself and I🔥

Crisis ActorTrying to login to the terminal (with casaOS login set in a previous step) and it’s asking me to make sure the SSH server is installed 😳
Oh Ive not seen that issue before, not sure how to guide you on that.
RickyBobby911Sounds like you forgot to install ssh when given the option during your initial OS install like Ubuntu
Crisis ActorPerhaps, I folllowdd the guide in another video installing colima in a docker and casaOS on a M1 and it didn’t mention installing ssh
freezerrKinstall openssh on ubuntu server i needed to install it manually too
/home/thankarezos"not that i recommend torrenting or condone piracy" don't worry dude we aint gonna snitch. 🏴☠️🏴☠️
Arrrrrrr...
StephanI’m running my Plex server off my PR4100, am I bit up the creek with no paddle or still do able? E.g. docker and entware?
the CPU on PR4100 is going to struggle with trasncoding. Unless you have a 4k tv and not need it. OS5 has a plex app, but not sure on ARR apps though
StephanYeh I’ve got a 4K tv as do my family who use remote access but would eventually look to upgrade, sounds like will need to do a brand switch
Synology is good, but pricy when you need cpu power. Old PC's are the way to go, we you that the next step.
/home/thankarezosyou can get a intel n100 mini pc from ali express for around 100bucks (firebat t8) it has very decent integrated graphics than can do 4k 80mbps h265 transcoding (if your client cant just direct play) I have mine running proxmox with openwrt vm a generic debian vm that i have dome tools like uptime kuma, ddclient for ddns. an alpine vm as a bastion that is my ssh entrypoint with 2fa in case my wireguard vpn on openwrt strops working, a nginx lxc and a jellyfin server on lxc that i pass through the gpu so it can do hardware transcoding. I was watching wheel of time on my 4k tv and i was flabbergasted how sharp the image is (took my ages to make it work correctly and my second mini pc i used as client couldn't direct play 4k cause gpu was hitting its limit) but with 100 bucks i had a router a jellyfin server and a general purpose server. and no other devices. and it uses 15watts on average. thats insane
JakeHey Mr @BenjaminSPowell, it seems that Flaresolverr is no longer supported. Any recs for replacements? :)
Oh, when did that happen? I didn't know and it seems to be working for me!! I'll investigate but right now, I've got no other solutions, apart from using paid or private sources to be honest. Not all require Flaresolver, so that's something I guess.
Jakehttps://trash-guides.info/Prowlarr/prowlarr-setup-flaresolverr/
JakeSeems that it was just a few months ago - when I try to install it from the CasaOS app store it fails - trying it manually now hehe
JakeToo easy thanks mate! :)
/home/thankarezoswell they say its not longer supported but it works fine
nosoupforyouother then the raspberry pi for hardware .. any other hardware you should have ? NAS ?
I'd not use a PI for this project as it's not got the processing power. But you only need a basic computer and some storage, no other hardware.
paperjam2032wont jackett do something similar?
Yes I belive it will, I've not really used jacket, but I'll check it out!
PigJohnalso gotta tell people to add filters to your torrent client and arr to prevent fake torrents being downloaded. eg your-auto-downloaded-movie.exe
Honestly I find with the stack running like this there's never been an issue, but thats a good point, I should cover security/filters.
PigJohnI have a very similar setup just using jackett instead. I get random malware often. Given these apps auto grab things people just put future episodes a day or so early and it automatically downloads. So I had to filter file names in my torrent client. I then remove the tracker altogether (but not an ideal fix)
Yeah, I think limiting the quality, when it will get the torrent (Eg waiting till release) and using nzb/paid trackers is a good solution.
PigJohnopinion on just running all this on Windows server?
100% can run this on a windows server, I'm just using CasaOs/Docker apps for ease of use and expliation but yes, windows server should run all this!
PigJohnlooks much easier and cleaner to manage. been making my own ui (web page) to easily access these on my Windows server
You could vm casaos into winswrver, would work, and another layer of security if you get a bad file.
Crytical 🇨🇦This is helpful. I’ve been watching this series trying to figure out what role CasaOS is playing. I have an old MacMini that I’ve been using for my Plex server and was trying to figure out if I needed to install CasaOS or not.
Crytical 🇨🇦Oh it’s not an M series! lol. It’s a 2011 Mac Mini. I’ll let you know how it goes when I work through your series here.
I just found that, yiu can install casa on a m* mac, using colima. Install Docker (via Homebrew): brew install --cask docker 2. Install Colima: brew install colima 3. Start Colima: colima start --vm-type=vz --network-address The --vm-type=vz option uses Apple’s native virtualization framework, offering better performance on Apple Silicon. 4. Enter the Colima VM: colima ssh 5. Install CasaOS inside the VM: Run the official installer: curl -fsSL https://get.casaos.io | sudo bash 6. Access CasaOS via your browser at: http://localhost/
